Am I DUF?

Crumbly at the Crunch - Self doubt, fraility & failure.

Some scriptures to consider;

Deut 28:66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

Mt 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Ps 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

1 Jn 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

Prov 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

End thoughts from Gordon MacDonald's book Ordering your private world:-

  • We each have our moments when we cry!..Cry from the pit of our souls. at those times we do not need someone to preach at us or offer shallow speeches of how we could have done better. Rather simply share the painful moments with us, assure us of God's love and their own.
  • When we are used to being in control and this occurs we naturally ask what is happening and why had no one warned us there would be moments like this? Perhaps it was some unresolved past wounds or due to weeks of a stress filled life. Maybe all are true.
  • What is sad is many make the choice to live out their days - a displeasure to God and a regrettable muddle for oneself. This is the place where many young people with a fairly empty soul, rich in natural gifts and opportunity but impoverished when it comes to inner space, find themselves.
  • God's love brings hope and strength within ones inner space from which there might flow a well spring of life - wisdon, spiritual power and Christian depth. You can have a living relationship with God today, simply take the time to acknowlege God (pray asking the saviour Jesus Christ into your life) and desire change (repent).
